There are many questions that the decision maker might wish to address.
Relative to the technical characteristics of a system or product, the analysis output may be constrained by bounds (or limits) that are established through the definition of system performance factors, operational requirements, the maintenance concept, and/or through advanced program planning. These various bounds, or constraints, should provide for trade-offs in the evaluation of alternatives.
Results from the foregoing sequences of steps are presented in Fig. 2.
