TS Transportation System - Frames

Frames are enclosed by the panels. The purpose of the frames is to provide rigidity for the entire structure. The trolley moves back and forth between the two bays; there are a lot of moving parts in the trolley; and the trolley is brought to a stop at both bays by external docking buffers. Hence, it is exposed to a number of internal and external forces giving rise to the need for additional elements that enhance the overall stiffness of the transport system.

This dimensional rigidity is provided in the form of frame elements attached to the side panels, and between the side panels, at the trolley bottom:

N.B. Each side frame has a slot where the pin-carriage assemblies for the dish and compression plate are mounted. More diagrams showing these slots and pin-carriage assemblies will be provided at a later date. Here is one showing the pin carriage clamps.
