At this stage, the Gemini AI system advised me that two slider-crank mechanisms (SCMs) working in series was not a good idea; that it could cause binding in the system; and that keeping the two SCMs aligned might be difficult. It suggested a good way to transfer torque between two parallel shafts was with a belt and pulleys. So I switched the design from two SCMs to a belt-pulley system (BPS).
