A unit to be fitted in a restriction in a downpipe to generate electricity from the flow of water. The unit has a turbine which rotates when water flows and the mechanical rotation is converted to electrical energy by means of a magnetic field. The electrical energy will be handled in the same way as the electrical energy produced by a photovoltaic system.
