Public Transport

The problem of mixed transport systems - public and private

Because of the interfacing between these two different systems, there are losses, increased costs and redundancies. Public transport systems achieve high savings when compared to private systems. There are the obvious environmental benefits as well as safety advantages.

What types of public transport systems? Buses, trains, trams, conveyor systems, horizontal escalators, magnetic floors, and the like. These alternative modes of transport are particularly suited for urban environments.

Two-tier conveyor systems

The problem with conveyor systems is how to interface them with existing road systems. They could be mounted over a tram line and only go into motion when someone wants to use them. The could be installed beside a river or canal, or over a footpath along particularly straight stretches of road. The would provide an added option for people to go from A to B, instead of walking, taking their car, or getting a bus.
