von einer geeigneten Stelle (z.B. Normungsinstitut) festgelegte Kriterien bestanden hat... das Gerät
wird daraufhin geprüft, ob es normgerecht arbeitet.

set out by a suitable body (e.g. standards institute) materials are tested for compliance to standards...
the device is tested to see if it works according to specification.
