alarm receiving station: This is a station that receives alarms from other areas of plant that are being monitored. An operator in the station can then respond to the alarm. Or a master computer system can respond to the alarm. These alarms are received in the form of messages on a screen or they could be audible alarms or in the form of electrical signals.
